At our treatment facility located at 388 Koontz Rd, Lexington, NC, near Yadkin College, our filter wash water flows into a gravity thickener to concentrate the sludge. This sludge is then pumped to a mechanical press which removes the water and produces a sludge that is later used in agricultural land application. The water removed through this process along with the settling basin sediment flows into two wastewater ponds where final solids are removed. This decant water is then recycled into our raw water reservoirs or returned to the Yadkin River.
During the calendar year of 2023, there were no violations of any permit conditions, environment regulations, or environmental laws.
